Cali Smog
I have a 92 hatch cx with a b18b in it. I have an MSD ignition, header, intake and underdrive pulley. I had my car smogged catless to win a bet with a buddy that Honda's with an MSD ignition cant pass smog without a cat. My car is registered in PA so having a cat really doesnt apply to my emissions testing but being in the military and having liberal hippies in CA i need to pass smog to get a base decal. I failed smog without the cat obviously but when i had a cat installed i failed worse.. NOx is my problem and im running between 2000-2600 when the max limit is around 800 or so. Does anybody know why i could be failing smog
Yeah, fvck people who actually want to breath clean air! Those people suck! We want that huge and disgusting ring of smog back around our large cities again!
The first thing you're going to have to do is go to the Referee to have your swap approved. There you'll be told that your header probably isn't CARB legal and neither is the MSD ignition. Welcome to California where our smog laws are like the regulations you'll encounter in any racing class.
There are literally dozens of posts on this website about high NOX and how to fix it. Use the search feature.
