Default calculating max rod length ..?

how do you determine the longest rod you can fit in a given block before having to add a deck plate?

i know the deck height, stroke, and stock rod length but i am unclear on how much room there is to play with longer rods (k24 block)

thanks!!

find out what the dh is for the motor you are asking about is,next take half the stroke+rod lenght+comp.height subtract the 3 just mentioned from the given dh and that is where your piston sets in the hole.you can start playing with the #'s from there.

Default

deck height = 9.093"
stroke= 1.949" (half the stroke)
rods = 5.980"
comp height=1.181"

so all i have left is 0.073" based on a k24 block...hmmm
