What cable transmission do you guys recommend for all around driving? LS in a 91 hatch with evenyual ls/vtec. Should I get a 90-93 teg gsr tranny or a b16a1 tranny? thanx so much for all the help.

 

b16 would be good but the gsr can withstand plenty of power

 

go for the YS1 or J1 or S1

 

good luck finding a gsr tran. it took me several months.

 

I'm still looking for a '90-'93 GSR tranny myself...in the meantime I have a '92 LS tranny. Bogs the B16 a bit but shouldn't be bad at all with the more torquey LS motor. It was a lot cheaper too... $200 from some random salvage yard (as opposed to $600 for the GSR).

 

GSR was not around in 90-91...you are looking for a 92-93 GSR
if you found a 92-93 GSR tranny for $600, GET IT!!

 

Oops, slip of the fingers...'92-'93 it is. $600 was what I was quoted at a local yard, but after I said "I'll take it!!" they went to look, and it was a GS not GSR. Bastards
