cable tranny internals in to a hydro case?

cable tranny internals in to a hydro case?
wondering if the insides to a cable tranny can be put into a hydro tranny case
reason why im wanting to do this is the hydro tranny i have is messed up and the cable tranny i have is good and has a quaife LSD so can this be done?
