a/c left open for an hour?
Reciever dryer or accumulator depending on the system. They're both the same. Its the little can behind the headlight. If you pull a vaccum on it for a long time you can reuse it but replacing it is easier and cheaper if you dont own the $400 pump to do it.
To charge the system you will need to produce a vaccum anyway but only for 10 minutes.
If you disconnect the a/c system, plug the hoses with something. Moisture plus a/c refrigerant equals acid. Bad for the rest of the system. Usually nothing to worry about, but it can happen.

i was told that if a/c compressor was left open for an hour you would have to change something?
the beater rex had the system open for a few yrs. Filled it full of r134a and some nice new comp oil and it blows nice and cold. my .02.
