bypass valve for cai

Would you say that a bypass valve is necessary? I was planning to get it, but then do I really need it? What would happen if I didn't have it and went over water, snow, etc?

if u gona get bypass valve u might as well save money and just get the short ram becuz u lose the gains with the bypass valve
