Buzzing from dash on hard cornering
OK I've got an autocross coming up and I'd like to fix this soon.
The problem first manifested itself at the last autocross I was at. Whenever I'd make a hard left turn at the limit of adhesion I hear a loud BZZZZZZT-BZZZ-BZZ from the dash area - gauge cluster, sort of - like a piezo buzzer that's shorting out against bare metal. It's very loud. The only strange thing is, I have no buzzers in the dash that I know of.
Has anyone experienced this before? It's an '88 CRX Si

never experienced it but I have a 90 hatch si and am trying to dismantle the dash in my head
maybe you do have a buzzer that never works unless you turn to the left hard and the wires make contact w/ metal????????
wow, my brain hurts

sounds like when i forgot to make a dent is the engine bay for the alternator on the b16a/crx. when i turned the first time i heard the pulley rubbing on the body, opps!
!!! Maybe !!!
I'm running a short alternator belt right now, so yeah, maybe contact is occurring... dang, never would have thought of that! I never bashed the thingie, just used the shorter belt.

You know, I hear that too. Mine is more of a tink-tink tink tink sound. I bet the alternator pulley is exactly what it is.
i dont know what you guys think of this , but i have a quick fix... i took a dremel and while the car was running stuck the shaving bit on the out side of the pulley, to shave off some of the aluminum that was making contact with the body. i havent had a problem with clearance since that and you dont have to remove the engine to dent it so its all good i guess.

Well, there were no buzzing noises at autocross yesterday... very weird... I do notice a shiny bit of metal near the alt pulley though, seeming to indicate it has been rubbing.
My 90 CRX Si does it too.
Only left hand turns, like 90 deg. or tighter (never realised keyboards don't have a degree symbol key) LOL , OT but , oh well. Anyway,
Mine sounds like the speedo cable or gears inside speedo. Can't
figure out what it is. It's only when I rev above 4500-5000. Once revs
drop and I'm going in a straight line it stops.

Your problem may be a worn speedo cable. You can remove the cable and re-grease it, then reinstall it. I had a similar problem (it was making a grinding noise while driving). Check it out
