Default burning smell coming from tire

this started happening like 2 days ago, whenever i come home and turn my car off i can smell this burning odor coming from my car. its coming from the pass side front tire, it smells like burning rubber. anyone know what it is? i have a 98 civic cx hb, its automatic if that helps. thx!

You sure it smells like rubber, maybe it smells like brakes. Maybe you have a seized caliper.

Stop doing nuetral drop burnouts at the stop sign at the end of your street! are you sure its not leaking oil somewhere onto something hot?

Replace it. You could rebuild it yourself I suppose, but I just replace them. Go to Autozone and get a rebuilt caliper. It is REAL easy to work on brakes, at least caliper brakes. And if it is a seized caliper look into getting some rotors while you are there. Make sure your pads are still good. Don't forget to bleed the system too.

LOL, my minor brake jobs usually snowball into an overhaul.

But make sure it is your caliper, just take off your wheel and inspect everything.

It might be your alignment. You should get it checked even if you dont think thats the problem.

i would also think about the porportioning valve this also can cause one wheel to drag when it gets hot ... seen it many times in the shop
