My friend has a 2000 Civic EX. after driving it for a little bit and the motor warmign up it starts to smell like something is burning. Kind of smells like when you first turn ona heater for the first time or liek burnign coolant. I know this sounds weird but you can smell it the strongest when making a right hand turn. Does anyone have any ideas on what this might be or soemthign we can check? thanks

maybe the vapors of the coolant is leaking and mixing with the heat of the engine?

This is a stretch, but maybe the oil pan or valve cover gasket is leaking, and when you turn right it really starts to leak? Sounds weird that it really smells if you make a right turn. My car would stink like oil right after I got out of VTEC's ***, and I found out my oil pan was covered in oil from me not cleaning up after myself when I did oil changes and the speeding i did would blow oil onto the exhaust. Sprayed off the pan, no more stink. Get underneath the car and check for greasiness or oil remnant.
