Built motor Question

How long can i leave a fully built BRAND new motor sit before someting goes worng? Im thinking about getting my motor built but i have to wait and get a AEM EMS. Dont know how long thats going to take me.

just spray some wd-40 on the cylinder walls and cover it up with a plastic bag. it can sit there for a long time.
