I have a fully built motor in my integra, darton sleeved, acl bearings, cp pistons, crower rods, etc. Fully built head pnp, valve job, springs etc (stock gsr cams) 9.8:1 pistons but milled gsr head at about 10.5:1. Running on stock gsr tune with 550 injectors set. One of my friends is saying the motors only going to last about 15k miles 30k max if i'm lucky daily driving it. But he also wants to buy the car from me (for the motor) Which makes me think he's just saying that so i'll sell it. What do you guys think? He's saying the motor would last alot longer if it was boosted because that's what it was built for. Has mishimoto oil cooler, endyne catch can, mishimoto radiator etc like everything. Dual fuel pump setup etc. I want to know if he's being forreal or just trying to get me to sell him the car?

 

You have all that and you havent tuned the motor? I doubt there is many cars that are a DD that have that much work into them. I'd say it would be all in the tune and how aggressive it is and how you treat/maintain the motor.

new clutch being put in atm. But yeah it's just on stock tune basically. I havn't been over 6k rpm in it. all cylinders 215 compression. Didn't want to spend the money on a tune until i boosted it and don't have the money to boost it :/ Here's a pic of the block when headgasket changed with 1 cylinder cleaned off.


I don't want to waste the motor by driving it like this. Can't boost it for awhile (like half a year atleast and it's my only car) So I couldn't decide if I wanted to sell it to him or not.

 

so you're running a built motor untuned? i give it another 5k miles, maybe.

 

Yeah.... Was going to put a stage 2 clutch in it cause I already had it but ordering a stage 5 clutch today to put in instead. Than over next couple months i'll be ordering turbo parts. Just going to ride my CBR through the winter and freeze my ***** off.
