Built ls or gsr
i have a 94 ls integra. i have 130k on the car now. Im goin to need to do something with the engine soon. i was wondering what hp i could get out of my ls if i rebuilt it with high compression pistons, maybe bore it out, cams etc. i really dont feel like goin through the hassel of finding and dropping in a gsr engine. anybody have a built ls tell me what u have and how much u have spent on it. any thoughts and comments will help! thanks!!
You'll want a Hondata or another programmable ECU to run cams. With this a straight LS setup with hotter cams is very satisfying. You'll also want higher compression.

i wana go all motor, no turbo, super, all i want is a like new motor thats faster than it is now. thats why i wana build up my ls. Smokin_S2K, u said u've had this before, what did u do and how did it come out?
LS Block $200+ used
LS Crank comes w/it or ITR Crank $350+
Crower Rods $400+ or ITR Rods $400+ used
JE 10.5:1, 11.1:1, or something wild like a 12.3:1, 13:1 like from Spoon Forged Pistons $380+
B16A Head $200+ used
I would go w/a Skunk 2 intake manifold/JG Edelbrock/Stock ITR Intake manifold $350
Skunk 2 Stage 2 camshafts $800 will need stronger internals though w/these cams, and Skunk 2 Cam gears$300
JG Edelbrock 70 mm throttle body$350
AEM CAI Intake $230
OBD1 ECU re-mapped, redline 9000rpm b/c the cams build power to 9000rpm
fuel pressure reg. $150
APEXi V-AFC $250
just some extra goodies to help the lil' motor
this is one set up that could give you alot of low-end torque but very good high-end hp and is very, very cheap if you can find the parts.
or you could go crazy and I could give you a beast of an all-motor set-up, but it's expensive man, let me know on an IM and I'll let you know that also. You really don't need stainless steel valves, stiffer valve springs, or titanium retainers if you don't have the money, but this would all deff. help in running smoother and hitting the peak potential of this motor.
le me know if this is something you might like.
