built gsr motor with ls tranny...
a friend of mine is going to get a built gsr motor put in his hatch in pretty soon and the guy that is going to do everything told him if there isn't a gsr tranny available at the time, he's going to throw in an ls tranny. what do you guys think of that? is that good, having an ls tranny on a built gsr motor?
why does everyone always reccomend the B16 tranny for built motors?
GSR may have longer gears, but the differential is built for power.
Si/LS trannys have TINY *** diff gears that will spin and break. Saw it happen
more than once. If you have ever seen the difference between the diffs...
you would put a JDM final gear in a GSR before dropping in a B16 tranny...
ITR is always nice though...trust me on this. Agressive launching on a B16
tranny will spell its demise eventually. You can only buy the whole diff from
honda and its $650 bucks.
