Default building Y8

I am about to embark on the "build" of my D16Y8. Please, I don't wanna hear about "go Bseries dude!" Anyway, I am gonna run forged rods and forged 9.0:1 pistons to lower compression in anticipation of boost. I am gonna get a blockguard and copper headgasket for durability issues. Other than some p&p on the head and intake manifold, what else should I consider for performance? This will be my daily driver so I would rather not hear about floating the crank and such like that. This is a daily driver motor, not full race. The car is a 91 hatch Si using a PG7 ecu (88-89 integra) and activation VTEC off a RPM activated switch. Please list any shops that you know of to have GREAT prices on rods, pistons, rings, head gaskets, bearings, anything. Thanks in advance.

Remember too, with that copper head gasket, youll need to o-ring the block.

seems that with the above mentioned mods and some fuel management and good tuning, I should be able to see 10-12 psi w/ no troubles and 15 psi with race gas and some tuning. Shouldn't be a problem. From about 10 psi I should expect to see in the neighborhood of 210 WHP. From there, it depends upon which turbo to go with and it's efficiencies at the specific pressure. Of course, I am planning on running a FMIC with my turbo setup. Air starts getting very warm above 7 or 8 psi. Remember that air pressure itself is at 15.1 psi so another 7 pounds on top of that is well above ambient.
As far as the Y8 goes for being an "ideal" motor for boost. It all depends upon how it is built. As a stock block goes, the rods will crap out around 7 pounds.

how much money did u or are u going to spend on an over all of the build and neccasary parts?
and how much money on the turbo kit?
what turbo variaty are u looking at? such as what turbo? what manifold etc.

i think im might try to do mine almost exactly like yours.

im guessing you already know all about http://www.homemadeturbo.com they have some good informations on turbo's and manifold etc.
