Building a Full Race Wire Harness?
I am in the process of building Circle track DA and I need some wiring help. This is my first complete harness job and I don't really know where to start. I only wan't the very bare essentials to run the engine and charge the battery. Can someone set me in the right direction. I feel that I should start at the ECU and work my way the engine but don't know if its the most efficient way. Thanks
sooo much to account for.... what are your first concerns?
= QUALITY WIRE., no parts store wire. ptfe lined or equal will increase durability and decrease weight
= use quality connectors, if you want to use oem finding pins will take you a while. took me years to find a source for them. most hondas use Sumitomo
but if not you can use other brands ( Delphi / Packard, Deutsch, amp, bosch are some)
= buy a good B crimper, expect to pay around 100
= keep all components close to each other to decrease wire lenght( read voltage loss)
so much more

Determine what your ecu needs to run. Easiest thing is to use an OBD2a civic harness that is one piece thru the firewall. Weed out what you do not need. Thats the cheapest, effective setup. Rywire.com also sells full-race harnesses. Or do it as mmuller stated and it will cost you more cash money, time and patience, but you can build it exactly how you want it.
I am going to use factory connectors. I have three Complete DA wiring harnesses. Everything from the tail lights to the headlights. It doesn't need to be picture perfect I just need it to run the car. Thanks guys.
