brought it to the state reff and failed the emission test
I brought my 92 acura integra to a state reff to if it pass. The motor in my vehicle is a 92 Jdm sir motor. After when they're done smogging it, they gave me a Smog check vechile inspectoin report. Its say on the ASM Emission Test Results, HC (PPM) MAX 121-AVE 30-MEAS 182 and the NO (PPM) MAX 1059-AVE 206-MEAS 1242. And I have a HC's Failure NOX Failure> REDUCE T THE BELOW MAS ALLOWED

then what happened... i have to do that pretty soon too..... i dont know what to do... and i dont know what made the stupid sheriff look under my car..... what the hell was his problem..... i was just going to the liqour store.... some one told me to slap some kind of V8 cat on that pipe...... im thinking of having 2 cats mended in......

I never had a ticket for my motor. But I just wanted the State reff to issues a sticker of my car to be smog anywhere.

im in the same spot you are right now. i have been to the ref 3 times now. the first time was about a year ago when i had to get smog done for my tags. i just wanted to go and get the sticker so i couldnt be messed with by the cops. well i failed and ended up rebuilding the engine. i have gone back twice now and failed both times. the strange thing is i have been to two other places and passed with no problem. after talking to a guy at acura he told me that there my DC header is keeping my cat from getting hot enough. so im going to go back to stock and try again, i figure why not my next visit is free.
you might want to do a tune up and change the cat and o2 sencer. then take it some place and have then do a pre-test and see what numbers you get.

There are a couple of things you can try. First of all, try running a tankful of gas with Chevron Techron. This can be purchased at most auto parts stores for under $10. Mix it with a full tank of gas and burn the whole tank. I am not sure that ths really helps. But alot of people claim it does. Also, you might try replacing your cat and oxygen sensor. Doing these things will make just about ANY car pass.
