Default Broken TRanny info?

Missed geared, Now when i turn off the car i put it in first hold the clutch down and the car wants to move forward. Thats the way i got it to go but 2nd gear hard as **** to get in also grinds and 3rd hard to get and 4th hard but 5th smooth. But if i have to down shift its like i cant find the gear to put it in WTF? You think i busted something? LS tranny with ACT clutch and ACT heavy duty pressure plate. Car only starts in first and then when i have it on i will start rolling and then i can put it in 2nd but real hard and grinding? Need help?

that is wierd that it went fubar with only one miss? do you beat the tranny often? if not that is not normal, usually the syncros will grind a lot and not do there job before they completly go out. i would check out your release bearing that can stop you from going in gears, and if you havnt changed it with that new clutch than i would put my bets on that.

otherwise check linkage and start double-clutching to get into those gears.

oh yeah that is another way to check if your syncs are messed up, if you double clutch and go into the gear but when you dont it wont go, it is surely messed up.

good luck.

When i turn the car on leave it in nuetral and my foot on the clutch and try to go in first it wont go! but if i turn the car off and put it in first the car jumps with my ffot on the clutch and then ill get the car going by giving it gas! then ya i have to double clutch or realse the clutch a little bit and then sec goes in its seems like something has shifted becouse 2nd gear is a bitch to get in and it does grind 3rd its alright but not normal! Whats blows me is the car moves forward when i have it in first and the clutch down the car should not move and reveres it does the same ****! damm now i have to hunt for a tranny!

Sounds like either a clutch hydraulic cylinder went south or the clutch itself is shot. Unless you've got a cable clutch, in which case it might be out of adjustment.

little better
your clutch/pressure plate is definitely the culprit, get them replaced
