Last night after driving home from the strip I pulled into the garage and as I slowed down I heard a 'screeeeech clank clank' sound - all metal-on-metal.

To make a long story short, I hear a screech-clank noise when the car is on the ground + rolls. When the front of the car is raised and the wheels spun I hear nothing.

What could this be?

 

Anybody? I'm throwing new axles in it now... *crosses fingers*

 

If anyone is curious, the new axles seemed to fix it... I tweaked a few other things while I was down there though so who knows

 

Constant velocity joint? Perhaps it was only complaining when loaded...so it was silent when you picked the front end up. Just speculation.

 

Must be something like that, 'cause I tweaked the axles around a few times when they were out of the car, and they were both smooth + silent... ahh well, problem is solved for now
