Photos explain the dilemma. I checked the part numbers on the acl bearings and they are correct.Double checked pics from the acl website and they look correct as well. The part number states they are for b18/b20 engines. The box for the BC I-beam rods shows the correct part number as well (BC6017). I hate to think that 650 dollar rods were machined incorrectly and then mass produced, but thats what the last option is. Either that or they were boxed wrong. Its my first build so im not sure if this happens frequently or not.

Ok, so I just got a call from BC and it turns out that they made a batch of 20 custom rods for a race team in europe and somehow I ended up getting a set of them. Apparently they were running some custom bearings of some sort that had the tang on the opposite side. They are sending me a new set as we speak so all is well now....damn europeans lol
