Default Breaking in new cam

what is the best or proper way to break in a newly installed cam? i did a search and i can't believe i didn't find one single post on this. Either everyone just knows this or the zerosearch isn't working properly.....did a search on "cams" and "camshaft" and came up with nothing as well....weird.

I'm sure there is some ****-break-in-period for brand new cams, but if ask a majority of the DIY mechanics here they'll say no or under 50miles. Coming from experience on this subject, just get them installed, let the car idle for awhile to get the oil flowing, go drive around normally and gradually pick up speed. And if they're vtec cams, just take it easy for a few test drives kicking vtec on and off. Once you do that everything should be cool. Just make sure you're oil is up to normal levels on the dipstick.

if the cams are used, you don't need no break in period. Just do the same procedures mentioned above and all should be fine.

apply cam break-in lube to all the lobes and set lash to cam makers specs. Start car and let it run at 1500-2000 rpm for 10 minutes. Change the oil/filter to get rid of the break-in lube.
