Some of the best break in oil will have high zinc "ZDDP" content and other additives which provide good metal to metal wear characteristics. Any lawn mower place or even walmart will have SAE30W oils. My favorite is Shell rotella, one of the best oils on the market today and cheap too. www.bobistheoilguy.com

Also, at my local Advance Auto Parts they have a break in oil additive made by Lucas, its like $13 a bottle but supposedly contains high levels of ZDDP and phosphates to aid in break in of any engine.

"Break in" is to wear parts together. High levels of anti-wear additives will work against that...

^^The ONLY thing that needs to "break in" are the piston rings. If you hone the cylinder walls right they will break in no matter what oil you use. Yes you do want high levels of ZDDP; which is why most assembly lube is very high in ZDDP. You do not want any contact between bearings and journals.

To be honest I stay away from 30w non detergent even though some people recommend it. Regular 5w30 will be fine, just be sure to change it frequently. I change the oil 3 times in 3000 miles on a new motor. More important than the oil you choose will be the procedure you use to break it in.
