Brakes...what brakes?
Okay, I've had some problems with my rear brakes for a while and my (ex) mechanic just doesn't seem to be able to figure it out. My e-brake doesn't work at all despite having just been "fixed" a couple months ago (need new cable??) and I noticed while installing my sway bar that my rear pads are dragging on the rotors. They only drag on part of the ratation though so my rotors might be f'd. Also, my brake pedal is soft and spongy but I guess probably just needs to be bled.
Anyway, I not sure any of these problems are related (except by the poor mechanic common denominator) but can anyone give me a hint of what might be going on, and is it something I can do myself with a helms?
Oh yeah, and I also noticed that there are only two screws on each side on the rear (don't know what it's called, the middle of the rotor) and there seems to be room for 4. wtf?
Thanks
-Chris

The screws in the rotor don't even need to be there, but 2 is all there are. They just keep the rotor on the hub when the wheel is off.
If the E-brake is always on, it is a given that they'd overheat and warp.
I don't know much about cable tension or how to fix this, but I'm sure you could w/ a helms (which I'm going to look at tonight for my own edification).
Finding a good mechanic is perhaps a better option, since this is unsafe and needs to be done promptly, rather than when you have time. More than just the e-brake is wrong w/ your rear brakes.
