Late,
You have to ask them. Some may just change the pads and charge you that much.

they probably turn the rotors (or at least inspect them for warpage). inspect the brake pads (maybe replace). Ans probably flush the brake fluid.

Are rotors = disc?

What wears out, disc pads or roters?

If the rotors are warp, do they need to replace it or grind it smooth?

When I step on the brake, there is sort of a "pumping" feeling like the disc is not smooth or something. Is that correct?

Late,
The pumping feeling is the warped rotors.

You need new ones. Buying good pads and new rotors cost me 150 dollars and one hour of my time. (took my time and cleaned stuff too)

Late,
Rotors are the discs....
If the rotors are warpped, depending on the extent, it could be resurfaced (grind). But, it is recommended that you replace the rotor, because grinding it will only be a temporary fix to the problem, and it will warp again soon. Also, I was told that the labor to resurface it and the cost of new rotors approx $60 ea. would be about thesame.

The pumping feeling or pulsating feeling that you get from the pedal is your rotors being warpped. I had thesame problem with my car. It cost me $381.00 to replace both front rotors and brake pads, and the rear brake pads plus labor. I don't know how to do it myself, so I had to go to a shop....

Brakes work great now....
