brake rotors, slotted or solid?
I want the best kind for how I drive. It's my everyday car, but I drive it hard sometimes. I heard that the slotted rotors can tear up pads? I warped my rotors, bad. after a couple hard stops there shot. right now I have stock rotors, I want something that will hold up. I've found slotted ones for $70 per rotor and solid for $25 each. I just want something that won't warp easy.
bedding in pads prevents warpage to a point, how you break in the pads insures long pad life. go with blanks and a decent pad like the axxis ultimate. thank me later.
yea i would go with a good pad like a hawk or axxis and buy some brembo blanks. they are pretty cheap and are a pretty good disc overall. plus with the low cost if u do start to warp them they r cheap to replace
That and warming them up before you expect to put some heat into them is good. The way drilled/slotted rotors crack or warp is because the heat isn't consistent across over the entire rotor. The hot spots expand faster than the cooler ones = crack or warp.

I was told the same thing. Although i plan on going with either Hawk or Porterfield! Also, I believe Summit has the best deal on Brembo blanks.

cobal friction tech sells great replacement blanks they use on the track for 29.00, I have them on mine with about 500mi on them so far on GT-Sport fronts. I still need to put in my rear axxis ultimates. My system definately needs bleeding as with the stock fluid will boil on these pads easily... gonna put in some super blue. Plan on doing that this week
