brake problems !! 90 civicDX fast plz
here's the problem, we bled the brakes, changed the pads, and I had to replace 1 caliper on the right side, and one wheel cylinder in the drum on the right side... we bled the brakes until no more air was left... ok it's done, brakes feel spongy and drop to the floor only when car is running and in gear
so it can't be the MC, if it was the MC it would always be down to the floor and just not get hard when I do pump them when I bleed it
anyone know what is going on ? need all the help i can get, car has to be running tomorrow!!

Put new fluid into the system, preferably ATE Blue of at least something different in color so you know when the old fluid has been flushed out.
Your old fluid may have absorbed too much moisture.
9 times out of ten simply replacing the fluid solves the problem.
Good luck.

well I did something called a gravity bleed or something *my uncle works for honda and said this is what to do*, this didnt work.. and i drained out a lot of fluid and put back in new fluid... filled up the MC about 3-4 times during this bleed process (all 4 lines)
still no luck, pedal is dropping to the floor

hmm, if it only loses pressure when engine is running, could it be the booster? cuz the brakes use vacuum from the engine. so, see if theres any leaks there.
When you were bleeding it did you have someone pump the brakes and then you let go of the bleeder screw?
Also check the Vacuum hoses!!

we did bleeding about 10 times, only one time gravity bleed .. the other times was with someone pumping the brakes ... so u guys are pretty positive it's the brake booster? im prolly just going to have a mechanic check it out and let them fix it... never done a brake booster before

No, it's not the brake booster. Forget about that...
Did you possible replace the caliper with the wrong side part? In other words, did you accidentally install two right hand or two left hand calipers? If you install the wrong side part, the bleeder valve will be on the bottom instead of on the top were it belongs. You'll never get all of the air out of the caliper if this is what happened.
If the caliper checks out okay, you need to line lock one rubber brake hose at a time (needle nose vise grips work great). Once you lock out the caliper/cylinder that has the air, the pedal will come back and you can determine what repairs need to be made.

ok well I beleive u its not the booster ... here is what I just tried, putting on the parking brake some then braking .. guess what, it worked, but what would cause this problem? just replaced both of my wheel cylinders in my back drums because they were leaking ...
