Default brake light in dash problem

i got a 00 civic si and my dash brake light stays on. It gets brighter when i pull up on the e-brake. I checked the fluid, and it was maybe a little low, so I filled it up. The light is still on though. what can my problem be? do i need to reset the ecu?

check if you have a taillight out, i believe that would be the other indicator for that light to remain on, the main thing is definitely the brake fluid i guess make sure the wires that run to your master cylinder cap are fine.
