Default Brake Cleaner?

I've noticed that brake cleaner will take paint off of metal surfaces, but I was wondering if anyone knows if it will damage plastic surfaces. The reason I ask is because I have some paint on my taillights that I would like to remove. Thanks in advance.

I've used it to remove overspray on plastic. As long as you don't let it set there and eat away at the surface you should be fine. Most of the time brake parts cleaner dries almost immediately. I'd spray it on a rag 1st then wipe down the tail lights.
