Brake caliper issue
I've got a FastBrakes 11" kit (94+ Integra calipers) on the front of my 92 Civic Si. This weekend I installed a new set of brake pads and I cannot tighten the 12mm caliper bolts (the ones that bolt into the sliding pins on the caliper bracket) on the passenger side front to anywhere near spec or that wheel will not spin almost as if the brakes are clamped down on it. The pins slide smoothly, there is a good amount of grease on them and the boots are not damaged. For what it's worth, when tightening the bolts it appears that one of the pins is not being pulled out all the way so that the head of the pin touches the caliper body... the bolt will not turn any further even through there is still a gap between the head of the pin and the caliper bracket.
I recall this happening when I first installed the FastBrakes kit as well. Brian @ FastBrakes sent me a replacement caliper relocation bracket and that didn't solve the problem. I've since tried another caliper and even went so far as to buy a replacement knuckle and wheel bearing with no luck in either case.
Is there any other way to inspect the pin? Can anyone else think of something else to check? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
