To bore, or not to bore...
I have a stock ls bottom end, and i'm going to set it up for turbo. The cylinders read as follows when i tested them:
195 195 185 195
These numbers are fine, but when i pulled the head the pistons seemed a little loose in the bore. But, only when they are at TDC. The cylinder walls are fine, but i'm a little worried about the looseness. I really don't want to spend the money for oversize pistons if i don't have too, but i don't want the engine to blow either. Maybe a new set of rings? any advise?

those figures are kinda high.... how many cranks did you do for the compression test? I usually only crank it 4 times.... the most accurate way is to do a leak down test to test the rings.
Have you checked your cylinder for taper and out of round with a dial bore gauge?
After that measure your piston diameter with a micrometer then you will know your piston to wall clearance.. hope this helps

That was only a few cranks. I really dont know how many miles are on the engine, but i'm thinking that there isn't that many due to how clean it still was under the valve cover. I'm pretty sure 195 is the stock reading.
