Default bore or just hone?

Ive recently bought a b16 block with under 50k on it. The machine shop I took it to said that they would go with a mild hone and not bore it, it seems to be in good condition with only minor wear. Is this safe for a good seal? I dont want to cut corners, but I dont want to break the bank, either, and overbore pistons are pricey. I dont want to be burning oil like crazy. I have ARP rod bolts, and im thinking about getting ARP had bolts. Thoughts, opinions? Im not going to be revving past the stock 8,200RPM limit, and the car is not going to be heavily modified.

It will be fine if you just hone it. If you want to up the displacement you could get it bored though.

how much do you trust the machine shop?
just honing should be fine, but you may want to take it to another shop for a
second opinion.

I trust them. They did the install of my crower 404's with everything on my old LS head, and they did a fantastic job. The shop is very old and does nothing but rebuilds and performance work, so I do trust them. Thanks guys, this post has really set my mind at ease.

with under 50k you really shouldnt have to worry about much. unless there was extreme sleeve damage, a honing should be just fine. if theres no deep scratches or scores, theres not much else to worry about. usually with higher mileage engine blocks you worry about bore taper and stuff being out of perfect shape. but 50k on the engine should be fine.
