Default blox racing cams type a

Hey,

I've heard the blox racing cams type a (stage1) outperform the ctr/itr cams.

I don't want to use stage2 cams, because I don't want to change my stock compression (b16a1 engine) and don't want to use titanium retainers (because of the wear).

The price of the blox cams is lower than new ctr cams, so I've thought about getting blox type a cams and a jdm itr valvetrain.

Who's got information on these cams? - specs, dynos, opinions? everything is welcome.

thx in advance,
marc

Im running type A camshafts. with a blox manifold. Im pretty happy with it. My base run was 170. I dynoed at about 180 whp 178 to be exact.(my edit) This was all on a P28.

I actually dont have the cam specs at the moment, but I do have them somewhere. The lift and duration is slightly more then the CTR cams. The Skunk2 stage 1 have higher duration (in./exh.) when compared to blox type A. From what I remember, correct me if I am wrong, the Blox Type A Intake cam has higher lift when compared to the skunk2 Intake cam. Ill try to get you the numbers asap.

My mechanic who is a blox distributor told me:
Wicked = Blox (but repackaged as wicked)
Skunk2 specs are different

I am using supertech valvspings and retainers. They edit(springs) have 70lb seat pressure. 2lbs less then skunk2.

I love em!!

Great with my stock block Gsr.

If you want a more aggresive set up, go with the stage 2's and bump your compression.

Should I go with type A or B? I just installed CTR pistons and ITR valvesprings on my b16. But engine not installed into car yet.

All I plan on doing is cams, cams gear, obd2 to obd1 and p28 chipped ecu. Daily drivin

Just an opinion, I would go with Type B since you are running high compression.

Just be sure to upgrade the springs and retainers. I dont know if the itr springs can handle a type B lift...
