blown rings?
This morning, prior to leaving work, i start my car and notice white smoke coming from my hood. I pop the hood and find white smoke billowing out of the valve cover. At first, i thought it was exaust coming out but it's been eating like 2 quarts of oil a week which leads me to believe its rings. Does this sound like blown rings? Can i just replace the rings or do i need pistons too? Thanks for any future help everyone, i really appreciate this.
ah, and my setup is a custom turbo d16z6.

i just rebuilt my engine this week pistons two and 3 had chunks missing and one had a ring blown apart in two. it burned a quart every fifty miles. In my case i needed new pistons and rings, you may not.
White smoke is normally a sign of water vapor... Does it dissipate like steam or sit around like smoke??? Water would most likely be your headgasket but it's all good if you're replacing pistons/rings... Leakdown test your motor... It'll tell you everything... Good Luck
