Default block question?Experts

is it possible to swap my gsr pistons out for jdm itr pistons with new rings without honing the walls, or does it depend on what condition they are in?
just looking to throw new rod bearings in with the itrs on my gsr rods

i suppose its possible but i would NEVER do it myself. ALWAYS rehone the cylinder walls b4 such an install. in fact w/ my experience the walls should ALWAYS b mic ed. with an abused car the "thrust" side of the cylinder gets worn out faster, then it needs bored and honed.

I agree I would never do that... Besides honing i normally go overbore... If that isn't an option then atleast have it honed.. With new rings you will want them to seat correctly and that isn't going work as well with uncleaned walls.

Yep, even if everything measures up, it won't hurt to just flex hone the cylinders to get those crosshatches back on the walls.
