Default black box, eh?

Ok so I am in the process of sticking in a new clutch. I have just about everything done and detached that needs to be. This is a b16a motor, and a type r transmission in a 98 hatch. My problem lies in the rear mount bracket attached to the transmission. I removed the two bolts that are right next to each other on the side. My problem is the upper left bolt, there is some kind of black box sitting right next to it making it impossible to get to. The box has two bolts, one connected to the bracket attached to the exhaust. I seem to have no choice but to remove the box, which seems possible to do, but I am kind of iffy on it being I have no idea what it is. Any advice would be appreciated.

you shouldn't have to remove the oil catch canister.. in your process of a clutch swap.... if the bolt your talking about is on the L bracket then that bolt shouldn't be on that side of the tranny(inner) it should be on the other side of the tranny(outer)...
