BIG VTEC CAM QUESTION!!
i just got a set of cams that are a bit bigger then skunk 2 stage two cams. i was told and have also seen for myself. that it wont go past vtec unless its full throttle. i was told this is cause the cams are so big. i have the calve train and everything to go with it. can someone explain to me why this happens.
It's called overcamming, and it occurs when the motor isn't flowing enough air for all the lift that the cams are producing, and there's no velocity to the intake charge. You lose torque and everything is slow. It's the same reason you can't have VTEC on all the time, the car just won't run like that. If you can, raise the VTEC point to minimize the effects, or get some smaller cams.
