Default Big question

I have a 2002 Honda civic EX, has the 1.7l 5 speed, So far on this car I have had a full 3inch exhaust, a resignater chop, Stage 3 clutch, and headers. I have a friend with a 2001 integra gs with a gsr swap. He only has headers on it. I have raced him many many times, and always loose by a car length. Ive tooken alot of weight out of my car and still loose.

I have another friend with a 2005 cobalt ss stage 2 supercharged. I walk all over his car, but the integra can't. So I should beat the integra, any ideas why I'm not??

Also when I got my honda they were running nitrous through it. So i'm thinking there has to be some internal work done to handle that, I know for sure The engine and tranny were rebuilt 15k miles ago.

The Integra just has a more powerful engine. And I believe it's lighter than your car. You're not gonna win with a new exhaust system LOL. You have the absolute WORST model of Civic's to mod. I'd say get a new platform if your goal is to go fast.

Right now my car weights 2200lbs, the exhuast I got took off weight, part of why I got it. What do you mean by platform, I havnt heard that before? Also car is lowerd 1 3/4inch. And has type R rear and back bumper. Both carbon fiber.

And I have one more question, does anyone know how to remove the cruise control off my car.

If you're looking for weight reduction, cruise control isn't your biggest item. Also the stock weight is 2550 for the manual and I doubt you pulled 300lbs out of it, even with those carbon fiber parts. What have you pulled out of it so far?

Platform is a common design used to make different models off of.
Example: TSXs and Accords share the same platform.

EDIT:
Teg weights (2001 year all manuals, Auto adds 42lbs)
Type-R 2639
LS Coupe 2643
LS Sedan 2703
GS Coupe 2639
GS Sedan 2725
GS-R Coupe 2667

Bench racing in against the rules!! The r1.7 is far from a performance motor. 7 th gen civics should only be used for fuel economy

That said a heavier clutch, 3 inch exhaust and an AEM intake are not making that civic any faster that a stock civic.
