Bench Compression Test Results
Was planning on dropping a B18a1 into my car but I wanted to compression test it before hand. Looked into the cylinders and they all looked good, clean looking bottom and top end. I rigged something up to test the comrpession outside of the car I have the throttle body on and wide open battery charged and starter turning the motor over and I got cyl 1 around 60 and the rest around 90. I squrted oil into the cylinders and the compression didn't change. Is my motor toast or is it because it is a cold motor that hasn't run in a while?
possibly because it is cold and hasn't run in a while. I usually see much higher numbers though even doing a bench test like that. usually at least 100 across the board
Just checked everything over, looks like the previous owner put a new timing belt on but didn't time it correctly. When put in time compression numbers look good. Thanks
