BELT KEEPS FRYING
hey guys i got a 1999 acura ls my belt from the alterntor to the crank has broke for the thrid time in 6 months. Everytime i change them they loosin up and squeek so i tenion it up then it breaks. Then wen i was lookin at the alternator and the crank one of them has more teeth than the other. I was thinking of getting some aem pulleys but is ther anyother brand of pulleys that are really good and is there an easier way around this problem thanks FOR ALL THE HELP
Sounds like someone has put the wrong Alternator on your car. I don't know if this is true but I heard that you can use the D-Series alternators on a B-Series but that one of them has more teeth on the alternator pulley than the other...maybe someone got ahold of a D alternator. If the alternator pulley has say 4 ribs..and the crankpulley has 5....not good for the belt
