Hi,,
Long story short,,
I will race the legendary offroadrace Baja 1000 in 2013
Using B-series setup with a Y21 gearbox,,
What mods would you recomend and why,,
4.923 final drive,, i guess this is the lowest today. Ineed as low as possible to run bigger tires
What diff would you recomend, i have double a-arm suspension and aprox 12 inch of travel.
The race will be on for aprox 24 hours from start to finish, Need the gearbox to be bullit proof
Thanks in advance

You most likely won't find help on here. Mostly street, drag, and autocross on this forum. People don't commonly build setups like yours here. Your not going to use the same kind of parts on a drag strip that you would off road and at the level you want to. Although, people I work with do race in the baja and I have been told that there is b series out there so there is people to talk to I just don't think this forum is the right place. Good luck with your build sir.
Thanks guys,,
N/A engine with minor mods,,
Need travel so changing the tripod inner cv is a must. Ihave seen both porsche 930 inners and 6 point "cup" style.
The 930 is very common in buggys, but the problem is that they are bigger in diameter and stick further out to clear the oilpan, that makes for a more agressive angle on the cv´s
i think the 6 point inner cv is the way to go..
Is driveshaftshop 5.9 a nice setup, or what do you suggest.
The plan was to go with mfactory 4.923 FD and their metal plate LSD. This to start and do some testing. Maybe change gears to, only for a lower ratio.
I wan´t to run 30 inch tires if possible.
Maximum top speed needed for me is aprox 160 km/hour,
