Default Bearing Size Recommendation

on my crank mains im measuring

in order from #1 pistons side over

#1 .038mm #2 .038 #3 .025 #4 .025 #5 .025

ok so i know from this that im going to go a size up on 4 and 5 because i dont like how small those are. #5 actually was beat up, i slid the upper one out from behind the crank and it was beat up too. looked like trash got in there, the actual crank journal looked like it did when i installed it. im running acl race bearings now so they are all green. im going to replace 3 4 and 5. i know 3 needs to have atleast a clearance of .030 so its out of spec to tight. can any of you give a reccomendation on what color to order for these mains im going to replace. im going bigger on all 3. .038 is well within the limits on the loose side.

first off each size up or down on bearings is .003mm so if you are at .025 and need to be at .038 you need a thinner bearing by 4 sizes. now it only goes down 3 sizes from green so i would try the thinnest bearing wich is a red. try that and post your results.

uhh would measuring with plastigage with the the weight of the crank on the plast side throw off the measurement?? being that the motor is upside down from what it normally would be on an engine stand??
