Default bead blasting

What would be a good price to get a couple of wheels bead blasted?

I bought a set of Mugen MR5's that were painted white and I am wanting to strip the paint to repaint them black and figured bead blasting would be the way to go. My buddies dad does it and said $25 per wheel. Is that a good price? Bad? Also, one of the wheels was stripped of the paint using paint stripper so it's back to it's original silver. Would it be necessary to blast this wheel as well?

Thanks for any insight.

Jasco makes some evil paint/gaffitti remover (OH it burns skin!), that works really well around the house. At autobod shops (the real ones) use a type of gel that eats the paint (like Jasco, maybe the same thing).

Is bead blasting with plastic pellets?

My adivice is to go to a shop that does HIGH volume stuff (like auto, arch., etc) and chat with them a bit about 'how it wouldnt be a lot of trouble to throw in some wheels real quick' and work something out with them.

If they work in large volume, a set of wheels would take only a few minutes a peice and wouldnt cost very much. A powdercoat shop in Livermore, CA (Moss Brothers) does Goped frame for $10 each for me whenever I need it done.

Not sure where you live, but buddy hook-ups are usually free where I am

I'm from the midwest(st louis) so there's not much of what you are talking about around here. Hell, when most people see my MR5's they ask what kinda rota's they are....lol

Also, it's kinda a buddy hook up. It's his dad that does all the work, so it cant be totally free. Thanks for the advice tho.
