Default Battery Relocation Ground issue?????

I just got finished with a full wire tuck and battery and fuse box relocation on my 95 hatch. I am running an Optima yellow top i have a fuse block on the power wire about 6 or 8 inches from the terminal with an 80 amp fuse, the ground wire is grounded to the frame/floor pan. I used a wire wheel on the drill and took it to bare metal and ran a self taping screw into the floor pan. i climbed in the car to start her up and it turned over maybe 2 times and popped a fuse, i changed out the fuse and checked the ground from the tranny to the frame rail and where i had just painted the bay it wasn't touching metal so i scraped it down, re-attached the ground and tried again...after turning over a couple times it popped another fuse, i tried 2 more times with the same results... Any help would be greatly appreciated

Replace fuse with a bigger one.
What gauge is the power lead from the batt. to the starter motor?
The main power lead is running from the batt to the starter motor, right? 94

It is 4 gauge power and ground.. I have the power wire ran to a distribution block with 1wire in 2 wires out which is all 4ga, i have 1 out going to starter and 1 out going to fuse box.. bigger fuse, would 150 amp be sufficient?

Yes, use a 150A fuse.

Rewire the 4ga directly to starter motor, get rid of distribution block, it only adds connections and resistance, run a smaller gauge, [you do not need a 4ga to the fuse box, it is way overkill 8ga will be more then enough] from the starter motor to fuse box install a 100A fuse on the 8ga as close to starter motor as possible. 94
