Batronix burner users/EE gurus...
Alright...sad story...
I had my burner apparently up and working (passed hardware tests) and I was about to register the software to burn my first eeprom, but then in a fit of insanity I somehow managed to reverse the polarity on the power supply and ******* beef it. SO, I replaced the previously smoking NPN transistor on part of the circuit with a new one and it started smoking again, indicating that some other component is damaged.
My question is this;
Is it worth while to keep jerking with this, or do you think it is completely screwed and I should cut my losses and just buy a commercial burner from Fry's with the software for $160? I still have to pay $50 for this software...so, a total of $110 and a possibly large headache...vs. $160 and a sour taste in my mouth, though I'll have a burner...
Will someone give me a hug?
God damn me and electronics...we seem to have our diffences, but lord jesus they are cool when they work. Crap, I think I'm just going to buy the burner tomorrow...

how about getting the epromer5 from http://www.ustr.net for 115$ shipped with cables from florida (or less on ebay). it works great and looks a lot more professional than the batronix.
