Default bad water temp sensor?

My temp in my car is barely up. My heater doesn't get hot it just warm? I changed my thermostat but it didn't help. Could it be the water temp sensor right next to the thermostat thats bad? I have a 1998 itr.

are you sure the cable behind the climate control is hooked up to the valve behind the dash for climate control? or is the needle on the temperature gauge low?

The needle is reading low barely above zeo lol. It does move up a little. Still get a little heat but not hot heat. Its a cold winter here so heat is good.

sounds like thermostat. sure you install a new one? sure you install it correctly? check coolant level and bleed it properly.

You probably have a few air-pockets left.

If you had a bad water temp. sensor you would still get heat from your core and the gauge would still read properly.

I would first ensure that it is bleed properly, if not you may have a clogged heater core. At operating temperature just feel the heater core hoses, if one is boiling hot and the other is cool/moderately warm, pull the hoses off and blast the core with a pressure washer, then clean it with water. Then re-install and bleed again.

Okay my temp started to go up today I just had to let it run longer because its in the 20s here. Anyways it goes up slow though. Wonder if it could be the water pump since I have not did a water pump or timing belt change yet
