Default bad tranny.....??ls diff and gsr diff interchangeable..

picked up a ls trans with a bad diff..i got a gsr diff and wwas wondering if its interchangeable..thanks guys

The diff is interchangable as long as you also have the final drive for the GSR diff.

I hear you should match hydro-hydro or cable-cable transmissions. You'll need to properly shim the diff and output shaft once you do the swap.

i have a gsr diff but no gear.. ..where can i find one for cheap....besides honda dealer...

B16/GSR diff will work fine, but you'll need to swap the counter shafts to do it (with the 4.40) final drive..

If you want to swap just the diffs, the GSR won't work since the LS final drive is 4.26 vs the GSR 4.40. The LS ring gear MAY bolt up to a B16 diff, but I'm not sure..
They appear to be the same internal diamter, but I don't have an LS ring gear to test fit on the B16 diff I have..

If you already bought/have the GSR ring gear and want to sell it, let me know..

if i had the gsr ring gear i would of used it..but i dont..just the diff..

The B16 uses the same ring gear bolt pattern as the LS and it won't fit on a GSR diff. Have you considered going to the JDM 4.785 final drive? It's not really all that expensive, plus your tranny's apart anyway.
