Default bad head gasket?

I have a 93 honda civic lx d15b8 engine

I just bought this car a little under a month ago. Couple days ago i go to start my car, idles very rough, like it wants to die and vibrating alot. i give it some gas, and a couple seconds later i see white smoke comming from exhuast in the back.

If it isn't a head gasket problem, could the block be cracked?!

I figure if it's a head gasket, it would run me about $800 to fix?

or should i just swap the engine for a d16y8. and if i do, would it bolt on and work with the tranny i have now with the d15b8?

i dont have alot of money so im looking for the cheapest way possible to get my car back on the road.

Ok so i pretty much figured it was a head gasket. great. but i also found out my engine is swaped, and has a Cx 70hp d15b8. so my plan is to swap it for a d16y8.

im going to the junkyard to find a d16y8, should i pull the tranny out with it, or should my tranny now be ok to swap it with?

anyone in vegas willing to help me, show me the ropes please let me know. thanks.
