Blown Head Gasket
ok kinda a weird question but has anyone tried for them selves or had anyone use/tray head gasket sealer? its a liquid you put into your radiator that stops a head gasket leak twice guarantee. anyways am I wasting my time and money putting this into my civic d16y8? I'm doing an ls swap in about 3 weeks I have the engine and tranny just waiting on the mounts, axels, etc. I'm trying to make this other engine last till then. any advise?

ok so I am wasting my time and money then.... ok thanks man I'll just drive it and hope it doesn't blow up. I only live like 1 mile from where i work so it doesn't even get a chance to over heat.

but you haven't ever heard of anyone using anything like this and it working right? I'm curious only because it is guarantee or twice your money back.

It will clog everyting up, how do you make sure it will go directly to the head gasket? You can't, it will end up getting stuck in your water pump, radiator, thermostat, and everywhere else your coolant goes.
I've heard of people doing it but it's not a smart idea IMO.

X3.
There are tiny places that the coolant is designed to flow through other than the hoses and the main routes through the block. When you use that stuff, it not only blocks off the HG leak, but also can (and will) block off the small pathways.
I only speak / give advice through either something I know 100% or experience. I bought a '94 Celica GT a long time ago. The previous owner had used this stuff as a cheap route to take care of a blown head gasket. In doing so, he clogged up his entire engine including some of the hoses that run back to the intake manifold. It DESTROYED the engine. I bought the car very, very cheap because of this. Had he bought a new HG and spent a day putting it in, he would have got a lot more driving time out of that car. I tore it apart, fixed it and got rid of the car.
GL with your car. As I'm sure you know, head gaskets aren't nearly as hard to change as a lot of people think.

Something to also think about is, while you are replacing the HD and have the timing belt off, you might as well replace the water pump, timing belt and timing belt tensioner.

Re: Blown Head Gasket
yeah. i agree with them^ that liquid sealer just makes it worse. just do a swap or replace the head gasket just dont overheat the car and when you do the headgasket if you do. make sure the head isnt warped
