Default Bad day.... need some help!!!!!

what up H-T... i hope this goes in this forum if i doesn't can someone please move it to the propper forum. anyway i was driving my coupe today after finally workin out all the little problems i had when i first got it on the road... the motor was feeling good so i decided to do a little run down the highway... get on the ramp and hit it in first feels fine go to second fine third fine then i go to fourth good and all of a sudden the rpms shoot up and hit the rev limiter really really fast like i had missed a gear but i was already in fourth..... so i hit the clutch rev match in back into fourth downshift and slow down for a stop sign and i shut the car off to take a look under the hood.... everything looks fine so i get back in a start it back up...nothing happens!!!! keep crancking for like 3 4 minutes and in finally kicks over but it was idleing at about 3200 rpms so i pull into my boys driveway reset the comp and try againg but now its at 2200 rpms... so at this point i thought it might have jumped timing so i check that its fine check for vacuum leaks, none, check to see if the throttle body is stuck thats fine..... i cant figure out what the hell it causing it to idle so high... also i have cel's but i dont know what cause its and automatic chasis and i can't figure out how to get the cel to blink so if u know how to do so please let me know!!!! any help and info on this topic will be much appreciated!!!!!

here's a few pic'sof the car to attract viewers!!

aight i check the cel's and i had 7-tps, 23-vtec, 41-o2 i figured it would be the tps so i changed that and while i was at it i changed the throttle body gasket, map sensor, fast idle valve, the idle air control valve, rechecked the timing and replaced the o2..... after all that still the same ****!!!! ooo and i replace all the vacuum lines including the brake booster line!!! i cant think of anything else to change!!!! could a bent valve or something like that cause a high idle? the motor is extremely quiet, has no valve tap or anything like that, if i drive it its still has all power in every gear... i havent hit vtec but i feels to bo all there... i am scared that if i get on it and it has a bent valve or somethin that i blow it up!!!!! please any help u can give would be great!!!! really need my car back asap!!!

did u check if ur timing slipped at all? and do a vacum leak test on ur manifold by putting ur hand over the opening of the throttlebody wile the motor is on, if it shuts off, theres no leak

What he is describing does not sound like a vacuum leak. A vacuum leak would cause a fluxuation in idle, and probably an off-idle stumble. His sounds steady, just high.

Check to make sure the throttle cable isnt binding and is properly adjusted. Simply disconnect your cable and see if it idles properly. If your throttle plate isnt closing all the way, you could have an air bleed over between the idle circuit and the throttle circuit for air flow, thus causing the engine idle to be high.

A stuck IACV can also cause your idle to run very high. You can remove the IACV and make sure it is not plugged up with carbon, or replace with a known good one for comparison.

BTW: You are well on your way to having a very nice, clean looking car there. Post more pics when you are done.

did you check your pcv valve???see if it popped out of the black box behind the block or popped off the pcv itself....this happened to me before...car would drive normal but with a super high idle....it would idle at 2000-3000 too

i had a mad *** vacum leak once because i had half throttle body gasket and it would idle steady at 4 grand, well check if u have half the throttle body gasket on there and adjust the idle screw on the TB and see if it makes a different, i know it wont drop that much
