Default Is this a bad clutch symptom?

My car has been doing this on and off for a while now. Sometimes at around 4000RPM the car would hesitate. It would sound like it's moving, but it's dirt slow. At around 6000RPM it would kick in again, and take off.

Today it got worse. After 4000RPM it would be dirt slow all the way to redline. It feels like something is holding it back, like pressure is building up somewhere. Could it be a bad clutch? My clutch DOES slip in 4th and 5th SOMETIMES, and it slips when I shift, so I know i'm in need of a clutch.

Hopefully this is another symptom of a bad clutch, if not, any ideas what it could be?

Thanks!

it's the sound of a slipping clutch. is this a stock clutch? if it is don't be surprise I had a relatively new stock clutch for less then 3k miles and it started to slip already. I replaced it with a ACT HD/SS clutch and never had the problem again. 10k and counting.

also I'm betting your clutch disc is probably glazed too and the pressure plate is probably seeing metal fatigue in the teeth of the plate meaning it's worned. what's the milage on the clutch since you last changed it?

your clucth is going bad you need a new clucth the faster the batter if it is slipping in 4000rpms. when you gat the new one and you take the old one out if you can move the springs with your hand it is bad you needed a new clucth.

drive at about 20mph, rev to about 4k or more and dump the clutch into 5th gear. If the tach doesnt drop you know it's slipping. hth

Thanks for the replies guys

In 4th and 5th gear the clutch will slip sometimes. Revvs go up but the car doesnt move.

The 4,000 RPM problem is, the car moves, but VERY slowly. It's not slippage, it's more like something is clogged. I think it's my fuel filter or spark plugs. I'm going to replace those today and see what happens...
