back fire

back fire
i swaped b18c7 into 96 civic coupe. modes 98R 4-1 header,empty cat,67mm piping,jasma exhaust,jdm 98R ecu.
The secondary O2 (single black wire out of cat ) not hooked up no place for it on jdm ECU.
gasoline is realy bad were i live 89 octaine at best.
now when i down shift ,or back off the eccelrator & push again i here a pop.
i cannot sure what is causing the back fire.i do not have any check engin lights on.
